Dakshayani Velayudhan stood alone in the Constituent Assembly of India—the first and only Dalit woman among the founders of the Republic. She did not enter those halls to be a silent spectator. She spoke with fierce independence against forced labor, segregation, and untouchability.
She proved that when a Bahujan woman is given the opportunity, she can debate the constitution of an entire nation with the most powerful men in the country. Her presence is a stark reminder to our society today: our political movement cannot succeed without the total participation and leadership of our women.
दाक्षायणी वेलायुधन भारत की संविधान सभा में अकेली खड़ी थीं—गणतंत्र के संस्थापकों में पहली और एकमात्र दलित महिला। वे एक मूक दर्शक बनने के लिए उन हॉलों में प्रवेश नहीं की थीं। उन्होंने जबरन श्रम, अलगाव और छुआछूत के खिलाफ भयंकर स्वतंत्रता के साथ बात की।
उन्होंने साबित कर दिया कि जब किसी बहुजन महिला को अवसर दिया जाता है, तो वह देश के सबसे शक्तिशाली पुरुषों के साथ पूरे देश के संविधान पर बहस कर सकती है। उनकी उपस्थिति आज हमारे समाज के लिए एक स्पष्ट अनुस्मारक है: हमारा राजनीतिक आंदोलन हमारी महिलाओं की पूर्ण भागीदारी और नेतृत्व के बिना सफल नहीं हो सकता।
