Jogendra Nath Mandal is a complex but crucial figure in our history. He believed in the alliance of the oppressed—that Dalits and Muslims must unite against the caste-Hindu hegemony. He became a founding father of Pakistan and its first Law Minister, hoping to secure a safe haven for our people.
However, the systemic betrayal he faced there taught us a bitter lesson: the Bahujan samaj cannot rely on the goodwill of others, no matter the country or the religion of the ruling class. His eventual resignation and return to India underscore the fundamental truth that we must build our own power structure, relying only on ourselves.
