Periyar EVR was a force of nature who ruthlessly dismantled the ideological foundation of Brahminism. He realized that the social degradation of the backward classes was rooted in the religious texts and myths propagated by the upper castes. His Self-Respect Movement was exactly what the name implies—a demand for human dignity over divine submission.
He taught the Bahujans to reject the gods that reject them. By organizing the non-Brahmins and fiercely opposing Hindi imposition, he built a massive regional power bloc. Periyar's radical rationalism and organizational brilliance are blueprints for how the Bahujan samaj must assert its identity and capture power.
पेरियार ई.वी.आर. प्रकृति की एक ऐसी शक्ति थे जिन्होंने ब्राह्मणवाद की वैचारिक नींव को बेरहमी से ध्वस्त कर दिया। उन्होंने महसूस किया कि पिछड़े वर्गों के सामाजिक पतन की जड़ें उच्च जातियों द्वारा प्रचारित धार्मिक ग्रंथों और मिथकों में हैं। उनका आत्म-सम्मान आंदोलन बिल्कुल वैसा ही था जैसा नाम से पता चलता है—ईश्वरीय अधीनता पर मानव गरिमा की मांग।
उन्होंने बहुजनों को उन देवताओं को अस्वीकार करना सिखाया जो उन्हें अस्वीकार करते हैं। गैर-ब्राह्मणों को संगठित करके और हिंदी थोपने का कड़ा विरोध करके, उन्होंने एक विशाल क्षेत्रीय शक्ति ब्लॉक का निर्माण किया। पेरियार का कट्टरपंथी तर्कवाद और संगठनात्मक प्रतिभा बहुजन समाज को अपनी पहचान का दावा करने और सत्ता पर कब्जा करने के खाके हैं।
